Mechanical Design Engineer

Autobahn Industries is seeking a skilled Design Engineer to develop, review, and improve drilling handling tools and related equipment in compliance with API Spec 7K and customer requirements. The role involves preparing complete design packages, ensuring manufacturability, and supporting production and quality teams.

• Design and develop drilling handling tools.
• Prepare complete design packages, including drawings, calculations, BOM, and specifications
• Ensure compliance with API standards and customer technical requirements
• Perform engineering calculations (load, stress, tolerance, material selection)
• Conduct risk assessment during the design stage and implement mitigation measures
• Coordinate with Production and QA for manufacturability and compliance
• Support root cause analysis for product failures and suggest design improvements
• Maintain proper document control and revision management
• Assist during customer and API audits related to design documentation

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 510 years of experience in heavy engineering or oil & gas equipment design
• Strong knowledge of API standards (preferably API 7K)
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Creo or equivalent)
• Understanding of materials, heat treatment, and manufacturing processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
