Job Title: Magento Ecommerce Setup, Theme Design & Customization Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Magento Developer with strong expertise in Magento Open Source (M2) setup, theme development, UI/UX customization, and endtoend ecommerce implementation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building a highperformance online store, customizing themes, integrating extensions, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience.

This role requires both technical engineering capability and creative frontend design sense.

Key Responsibilities

Magento Installation & Environment Setup

* Install and configure Magento 2 Open Source on local, staging, and production environments.

* Set up LAMP/LEMP stack, Composer, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Redis, Varnish, and CDN.

* Configure store settings, currencies, taxes, shipping, payment gateways, and caching.

Theme Design & FrontEnd Development

* Develop custom Magento themes from scratch or extend existing themes (Luma/Blank).

* Customize PHTML templates, XML layouts, LESS/SASS, Knockout.js UI components.

* Implement responsive, mobilefirst UI aligned with brand guidelines.

* Optimize frontend performance, Core Web Vitals, and page speed.

Customization & Module Development

* Customize Magento core functionality using plugins, observers, preferences, and DI.

* Build custom modules for businessspecific features.

* Add and configure product types, attributes, categories, and catalog rules.

* Integrate thirdparty APIs (shipping, payments, ERP, CRM, marketing tools).

Ecommerce Store Setup

* Configure product catalog, inventory, pricing, and variations.

* Set up checkout flow, cart rules, promotions, and customer groups.

* Implement SEO best practices, schema markup, and URL optimization.

* Ensure smooth order flow, email templates, and transactional workflows.

Testing, Optimization & Maintenance

* Perform QA testing across browsers and devices.

* Troubleshoot performance issues, caching conflicts, and extension errors.

* Maintain security patches, upgrades, and version control (Git).

* Monitor uptime, logs, and server performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

* Strong experience with Magento 2 Open Source development.

* Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Knockout.js.

* Experience with Composer, Git, CLI, Linux servers.

* Understanding of Magento architecture, EAV model, DI, service contracts.

* Experience with theme development, UI components, and layout XML.

* Familiarity with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Redis, Varnish.

* Ability to convert Figma/PSD designs into Magento themes.

* Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
