Job Description
About the Company
A growth-oriented Venture Capital firm launching a new fund.
About the Role
We are seeking a heavyweight Managing Partner or Partner to spearhead the fundraising vertical. This is a critical leadership role for a seasoned professional with a "Rainmaker" pedigree who can architect and execute a capital-raising strategy from zero to final close.
Responsibilities
- Fundraising Execution & Capital Strategy
- Capital Sourcing: Lead the end-to-end fundraising lifecycle, leveraging a deep, existing Rolodex of Family Offices and HNIs to secure capital commitments.
- Syndication & Roadshows: Organize and lead roadshows across India and global financial hubs to build interest and syndicate the funds vision to institutional investors.
- PPM & Narrative Building: Oversight of institutional-grade collateral including the Private Placement Memorandum (PPM) and investor decks, ensuring they meet SEBI AIF framework requirements.
- Limited Partner (LP) Relations
- Trust Management: Act as the primary face of the fund to investors, managing the full communication suite from initial pitch to quarterly performance reporting.
- Investor Servicing: Manage capital calls, distributions, and investor queries, ensuring high transparency and consistency with performance benchmarks.
- Stakeholder Negotiation: Lead negotiations on term sheets and definitive fund documents, ensuring commercial interests and protective covenants are robustly structured.
- Strategic Leadership
- Deal Lifecycle Insight: While the primary focus is fundraising, the candidate will advise on the investment thesis, helping evaluate proprietary deal flow to demonstrate high-alpha potential to prospective LPs.
- Exit Strategy Visualization: Articulate clear exit pathways (IPOs, M&As, or Secondary sales) to investors to build confidence in the fund's liquidity profile.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 10-15 years of significant experience in Fundraising, Private Equity, Venture Capital, or wealth management.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrable success in raising large-scale capital (e.g., $20M - $100M+) from non-institutional and institutional sources.
- Network: An existing, active relationship base with Indian Family Offices, UHNIs, and Institutional Investors (DII/FII).
- Academic Credentials: Post-graduate degree in Finance (MBA/CA/CFA) is highly preferred.
- Certifications: Must be familiar with or hold NISM Series XIX-C (AIF Managers) certification as per SEBI requirements.
