Role Overview

The Managing Director Financial Controller will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Financial Control function. The role is responsible for end-to-end financial reporting, governance, controls, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder management across global entities, while driving transformation, automation, and talent development in the GCC.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end financial control, accounting, and reporting for global banking entities supported by the GCC.
• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS/US GAAP/local GAAP.
• Oversee balance sheet substantiation, P&L reviews, intercompany accounting, and consolidation activities.
• Act as senior control owner, ensuring strong financial controls and compliance with SOX, regulatory, and internal audit requirements.
• Lead interactions with Internal Audit, External Auditors, and Regulatory stakeholders; ensure timely remediation of audit findings.
• Drive continuous improvement of control frameworks and risk management practices.
• Partner with onshore Finance leaders, Business CFOs, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams.
• Build the GCC as a center of excellence for financial control, governance, and reporting.
• Champion finance transformation initiatives including process standardization, automation, data modernization, and use of AI/analytics.
• Drive efficiency, scalability, and cost optimization through operating model improvements and digital solutions.
• Lead and develop a large, multi-layered global team (including senior leaders and people managers).

Required Qualifications & Experience

• CA / CPA / ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• 20+ years of progressive experience in Financial Control, Accounting, or Finance leadership within Banking or Financial Services.
• Proven experience leading large finance teams in a GCC or shared services environment.
• Strong knowledge of banking products, financial reporting standards, regulatory requirements, and control frameworks.
• Demonstrated success in driving large-scale finance transformation and automation initiatives.
