Designation: Manager-Policy & Risk Control

Qualification : Post Graduate

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. General

    1. Actively participate in decision making to ensure accomplishment of the organisation’s short, medium and long term goals.
    2. Build internal and external relationships / partnerships to further the organisations interests
    3. Continually monitor the competitive landscape and use learnings to fine tune the organisation’s products and risk management strategy
    4. Be aware of all applicable regulations and the compliance framework to be able to effectively address this risk.

     

    Business and Risk

    1. Responsible for credit policy management and enterprise risk monitoring and controls.

    a)      Policy Management

    i. Closely interact with credit underwriting, fraud control and collections teams to assess feedback for credit policy

    ii. Review loans as per credit deviation matrix

    iii. Monitor the changing environment and adapt the company’s products to the same which keeping in mind the inherent risks in the portfolio and the company’s risk appetite.

     iv. Interact with the broad market players to analyse and internalise emerging risks in the marketplace.

    v. Monitor portfolio performance by segments and vintages and incorporate learning into credit policy.

    b)      Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Risk Management

    i.                    Identify potential risk events that may affect the company.

    ii. Conceptualise and implement the framework to manage these risks based on the organisations risk appetite.

    ii.                   Set the right risk ownership framework within the organisation.

    iii.                 Review current ORM mechanism in the company

    v.      Develop Resilience framework against the RBI requirement and recommend enhancement to existing processes / control

    c)             Policy document and other policies

                 i.      Maintain updated business credit policy and risk manual including:

          • Risk Framework
          • Credit Policy _ Retail and Non- Retail
          • Legal and Technical Manual
          • Policy related to RBI’s scale-based regulation
          • Policy related to valuation and empanelment of vendors
          • ORM framework
          • ICAAP policy and annual document

    d)    ICAAP process

     i.      Custodian of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) Policy

                     ii.      Engage with relevant stakeholders and business units to recommend necessary amendments to this ICAAP Policy.

    iii.      Maintain all documentation supporting the ICAAP.

    iv.      Identification and assessment of all inherent and material risks and devising appropriate methodologies for measurement of risks considering the nature, size, and complexity of Company’s operations, to measure the risk capital.

                     v.      Responsible for developing the methodology for the assessment of Pillar II risks.

     People

    1. Maintain continual and smooth interaction with other functional units so as to seamlessly deliver the desired risk monitoring results.
    2. Participate in cross functional and strategic initiatives on a project basis as needed
    3. Conduct training for sales, operations and any other function as may be required from time to time.

     

    Process

    1. Develop a deep understanding of the company’s target segment and work at enhancing the delivery model to customers.
    2. Continually work with the underwriting team to improve the policy implementation process.
    3. Work closely with collections and business teams to gain deeper understanding of the borrower segments as well as portfolio behaviour.
    4. Create processes or training content to improve awareness of relevant teams on matters relating to compliance, controls and risk management
    5. Create standard templates / checklists as required to drive uniformity and consistency in the credit assessment process.
    6. Conduct market / branch visits to review processes, impart training and deepen knowledge of the markets where Shubham operates.
