Job Description

Role purpose:
The macOS/JAMF SME will be responsible for managing and optimizing the enterprise macOS ecosystem, ensuring secure, efficient, and scalable device management using JAMF Pro. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining macOS management solutions, driving automation, ensuring compliance, and providing expert-level support for escalated incidents. The SME will act as a technology advisor for Apple endpoint strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance user experience and operational excellence.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
710 years of experience in macOS device management in an enterprise environment.
Expert-level proficiency with JAMF Pro for policy enforcement, device enrollment, patching, and app deployment.
Strong understanding of Apple ecosystem technologies (DEP, VPP, MDM, Apple Business Manager).
Hands-on experience with macOS troubleshooting, performance optimization, and advanced configurations.
Knowledge of identity and access integration (Active Directory, Azure AD, Single Sign-On).
Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, networking basics (DNS, VPN, Wi-Fi), and endpoint security practices.
Proven ability to design and execute automation scripts for macOS administration.
Experience working in ITIL-based service management environments, handling escalated incidents and problem management.

Must have technical/professional qualifications:
JAMF 300 or 400 certification (or equivalent proven expertise).
Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) or Apple Certified IT Professional (ACiT).
Strong skills in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or AppleScript.
Proficiency in application packaging and deployment for macOS.
Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks and compliance standards.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience

Roles and Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain macOS device management solutions using JAMF Pro.
Lead packaging, deployment, and lifecycle management of applications for macOS devices.
Define and manage device policies, profiles, and security baselines in line with organizational standards.
Drive automation of common administrative tasks through scripting (Bash, Python, AppleScript).
Troubleshoot and resolve complex macOS device and JAMF platform issues, providing Level 3 support as needed.
Collaborate with security, networking, and Windows/Intune teams to ensure seamless integration across platforms.
Evaluate, test, and implement new macOS features and JAMF capabilities to optimize device management.
Maintain documentation, process flows, and knowledge base articles for support teams and end-users.
Act as a subject matter expert for audits, compliance checks, and Apple ecosystem strategy discussions.
