Role: Head - Product Owner for Data Science projects

Position overview

Individual contributor who will be responsible for conceptualize and execute AI projects directly or in partnership with data science teams across Tata Communications. Success in this role requires a mix of technical, business, and financial skills and the ability to work across different stakeholder groups in addition to leadership skills to lead a team that can achieve the above objectives.

A special focus area for this role would be to identify ideas for creating monetizable product differentiators for Tata Communications products and services. The objective is to identify ways to leverage the data that flows through the Tata Communications network or is generated as a part of interactions with customers. Success in this area would mean the identification and creation of new sources of revenue for Tata Communications that leverage the data and power of AI and Analytics.

Detailed job description

· Bridge technical expertise of data scientists and domain knowledge of product management, engineering, and operations teams

· Identify specific ideas across Tata Communications products and services where we can create chargeable services, generate unique insights that can increase the stickiness of existing products and services or improve existing processes or reduce cost of operations

· Identify the business problem, convert it into a data science task and define the business KPI that would be impacted for the said business problem

· Understand and call out the potential impact of solving the said business problem - qualitative and quantitative

· Identify data needed to solve the problem and establish its sufficiency and provenance

· Define how the model would be integrated into the existing business workflow and/or any process changes

· Ensure project progress as per agreed upon timelines and stakeholder management at a working group and executive level

· Create a set of best practices for defining projects and building models.

This role is focused on AI. so a working understanding of AI technology, key terms from a business standpoint would be necessary.
Prior experience in strategy development or consulting is an added advantage
