Manager -Statutory Compliance

Team Size : Managing a team of up to 10 members (PF, CoC, ESIC )

Role Purpose

The Statutory Compliance Lead / Manager will be responsible for endtoend management of Provident Fund (PF), Certificate of Coverage (CoC), and ESIC compliance for Tech Mahindra and its portfolio companies. The role ensures statutory adherence, audit readiness, risk mitigation, and timely resolution of complex cases, while driving standardisation, automation, and team capability.

This role acts as the single point of accountability for PF/CoC/ESIC governance, stakeholder management, and regulatory interactions.

Key Responsibilities

1. PF / EPFO Compliance (India & Portfolio Companies)

• Own endtoend PF compliance including:
• UAN linking for new hires, marking exits separation cases on time , managing 100% compliance as per statutory requirements.
• Transfers, withdrawals, death cases, retirement cases, partial withdrawal , CoClinked PF handling, EPS corrections
• Data correction, KYC compliance monitoring.
• Postseparation PF services and legacy issues
• Handle ex-employees and active employees PF query management for all EPFO related grievances.
• Liaise with EPFO field offices, zonal offices, and consultants to resolve escalations
• Represent the organisation during PF inspections, audits, and Section 7A proceedings
• Ensure statutory timelines are met and penalties / interest exposure is minimised
• Standardise PF, CoC, and ESIC processes across TechM and portfolio companies
• Partner with CIO / IT teams for Automate compliance workflows , Improve system controls and validations, Reduce manual errors and dependency on individuals
• Track metrics such as TAT, accuracy, audit findings, and escalation trends

2. Certificate of Coverage (CoC) Own the CoC lifecycle for deputed associates, Application, amendments, extensions, cancellations, and closures

3. ESIC Compliance : Drive resolution of ESIC coverage activities for enrolments and benefitrelated employee issues.

4.Process Excellence & Automation and Improve system controls and validations in compliance

5. Governance, Risk & Audit

• Establish strong governance frameworks for PF, CoC, and ESIC
• Maintain auditready documentation, trackers, and approval trails
• Proactively identify compliance risks and implement corrective actions
• Drive rootcause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and prevent reoccurrence
• Support internal, statutory, and external audits with zerosurprise outcomes

Key Skills & Competencies

• Deep expertise in EPF, EPS, CoC, ESIC, and social security regulations
• Experience handling EPFO statutory audits, inspections, and regulatory authorities
• Ability to interpret and apply complex statutory provisions pragmatically
• Strong people management and coaching skills
• Ability to manage ambiguity and complex escalations, Clear, confident communication with senior stakeholders and authorities.
