About the role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Manager/Senior Manager, Airline Ticketing to lead all domestic and international air travel logistics within our MICE Division. This role requires an expert understanding of group ticketing rules, strong airline relationships, and the ability to manage complex travel scenarios under high-pressure deadlines. The primary focus is to secure optimal airfare contracts, ensure compliance, and deliver error-free travel arrangements for large groups.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Airline Management & Contracting
- Negotiation: Lead and manage negotiations with domestic and international airlines to secure favorable group airfares , including block bookings, corporate rates, and tactical incentive contracts, maximizing savings and added value.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, high-level relationships with airline sales teams, GDS providers, and aggregators to ensure priority service and support.
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop a comprehensive strategy for domestic and international route planning and sourcing, analyzing cost-effectiveness versus convenience for large groups.
2. Group Ticketing Operations & Execution
- End-to-End Ticketing: Oversee and personally manage the complete ticketing lifecycle for MICE groups (often 50+ travelers), including PNR creation, ticketing, reissuance, cancellations, and refunds.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to airline group contract terms, ticketing deadlines, change policies, fare rules, and all IATA/DGCA regulations.
- GDS Proficiency: Serve as the division's expert user for all Global Distribution Systems (GDS, e.g., Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo), managing complex segment bookings and queue management.
3. Financial Management & Risk Mitigation
- Budgeting: Provide accurate and timely cost projections for air travel components during the pitching and planning phases.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with group bookings, such as name change penalties, fluctuating fuel surcharges, and cancellation clauses, protecting agency and client interests.
- Reconciliation: Collaborate with the Finance team on invoicing, commission tracking, and settlement plan (BSP) reconciliation.
4. Team Collaboration & Process
- Client & Team Liaison: Work closely with Project Managers and Client Servicing teams to define travel briefs, manage passenger data (manifests), and communicate complex travel policies clearly to clients.
- SOP Development: Establish, document, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all air ticketing processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Mentorship: Train and mentor junior team members on advanced group ticketing, GDS usage, and airline negotiation techniques.
Required Qualification, Experience & skills:
- 6+ years in Airline Ticketing, with 3+ years specifically in group/MICE ticketing or corporate travel management.
- Bachelor's Degree. IATA certification or similar travel qualification preferred.
- Expert knowledge of GDS (Amadeus/Sabre/Galileo), exceptional contract negotiation, and fare construction knowledge.
- Proven ability to handle large-scale simultaneous group bookings and meet critical deadlines.
