What you'll be doing

Team Leadership and Management:

• Lead and mentor a team of security analysts and engineers.
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the SOC team.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.

Incident Response:

• Oversee the incident response process, ensuring that incidents are detected, analyzed, and resolved in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and procedures.
• Coordinate with other departments and clients during major security incidents.

Security Monitoring and Analysis:

• Ensure that the SOC is effectively monitoring client networks and systems for security threats.
• Analyze security data and trends to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats.
• Implement and manage security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and threat intelligence platforms.

  Strategic Planning:

• Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the security posture of the MSSP and its clients.
• Stay updated with the latest security trends and technologies.
• Collaborate with other departments to align security strategies with business objectives.

Client Management:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding security incidents and issues.
• Provide regular reports and updates on the security status of client environments.
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans for clients.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare and present regular reports on SOC activities, incidents, and performance metrics.
• Document all security incidents, responses, and resolutions.
• Maintain detailed records of security policies, procedures, and compliance activities.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.

Experience:

• Proven experience in a SOC or similar role, preferably in an MSSP environment.
• Experience in leading and managing a team of security professionals.

Certifications:

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and threat intelligence platforms.
• Strong knowledge of network security, incident response, and threat analysis.
• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with specific security tools and platforms used by the MSSP. Knowledge of cloud security and experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Experience with automation and orchestration tools for security operations.

Work Environment:

• The role may require working in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 coverage.
• The SOC Manager may need to travel occasionally for client meetings or industry conferences.
