Job Description
Role : Manager - Payroll & Operations
Exp :12 to 15Yrs
Location : Chennai
Must-Have Technical Capabilities :
- End-to-End Payroll Management
- Hands-on experience managing complete in-house payroll processing, including validations, statutory deductions, bonuses, increments, and full & final settlements.
- Statutory & Compliance Expertise (Local)
- Strong working knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliances
- HR Systems & Payroll Platforms
- Experience working with HRIS, payroll systems, and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP), ensuring data accuracy and system governance.
- Compliance Tracking & Documentation
- Proven experience in maintaining compliance trackers, statutory registers, employee records, and audit-ready documentation and acting as a controller to HR function.
- HR Budgeting & Cost Control
- Experience managing HR budgets, tracking utilization, analyzing variances, and acting as a controller for HR costs.
- Reporting, MIS & Dashboards
- Strong experience in preparing HR MIS, dashboards, and management reports with accurate data and insights.
- Process Automation & Improvement
- Demonstrated interest and experience in automating manual HR and payroll processes to improve efficiency and controls.

- Strong Analytical Skills : Ability to analyse payroll, headcount, and cost data and translate numbers into meaningful insights.
- Time Management & Prioritization : Ability to manage multiple critical timelines (payroll, compliance filings, audits, leadership reporting) with discipline and consistency.
- Process Orientation & Risk Mindset : Structured, control-oriented approach with the ability to anticipate, assess, and mitigate operational and compliance risks.
- High Attention to Detail : Strong eye for detail with a zero-error mindset, especially in payroll, compliance, and audits.
- Stakeholder & Leadership Management : Ability to work closely with Leadership, Finance, and Business Heads with confidence and clarity.
- Ownership & Accountability : Takes end-to-end ownership of outcomes with a high sense of responsibility and reliability.
