About the Role

We are looking for an industry veteran to lead our International A2P SMS business. This is a high-impact role requiring deep expertise in the global messaging ecosystem. You will be responsible for managing carrier relations, negotiating interconnect agreements, and driving revenue growth by selling A2P traffic to global aggregators, hubs, and large enterprises.

Key Responsibilities

1. Carrier Relations & Procurement (Buy & Sell):

• Route Management: Manage end-to-end bilateral and unilateral relationships with international Tier-1 carriers, MNOs (Mobile Network Operators), and global aggregators (e.g., Sinch, Infobip, Twilio, iBasis).
• Interconnect Negotiation: Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and committed volumes (commit deals) to secure high-quality "White Routes" and optimize margins.
• Inventory Optimization: Constantly monitor route quality (DLRs, Latency) and switch vendors dynamically to ensure best-in-class delivery for clients.

2. Global Business Development:

• New Revenue Streams: Identify and onboard new international partners to increase traffic volumes (termination and origination).
• Strategic Accounts: Serve as the primary point of contact for key international accounts, handling escalations and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
• Conference Representation: Represent the company at major global telecom conferences (MWC, ITW, GCCM) to build networks and close deals.

3. Commercial Strategy & Compliance:

• Pricing Strategy: Set floor prices and manage rate sheets (pricing decks) for different destinations based on market fluctuations.
• Smishing/Fraud Control: Work with the technical team to monitor and prevent SMS pumping, grey route traffic, and spam/fraud, ensuring compliance with global regulations (GDPR, A2P monetization rules).

Collaborate with the Product Team to enhance the SMPP/HTTP API platform features based on client feedback.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 510 years of exclusive experience in International A2P SMS / VoIP .
• Global Network: Must have an active Rolodex of contacts at major international carriers and SMS hubs. (This is a non-negotiable for this seniority).
• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of SMPP (v3.4/5.0) , HTTP APIs, SS7 (basics), Grey Routes vs. White Routes, and SIM Farms (detection/avoidance).
• Commercial Acumen: Expertise in terminology like NCLI (Non-CLI), CLI, Blended Routes, HLR Lookup, and conversion-based pricing.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work in shifts or extended hours to cover US/European time zones as required.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with other CPaaS products (RCS, WhatsApp Business API, DID Numbers) is a strong plus.
• Proven track record of managing a monthly gross profit (GP) of $50k+.
• Experience using SMS Switching platforms (e.g., Alaris, Monty Mobile, Telestax).
