Qualifications

M.Sc. in Horticulture or equivalent.

Desirable: Ph.D. in Horticulture or equivalent.

07 years experience in related fields, including Govt./ External Aided Projects preferable experience in Hilly Horticulture

Job Responsibilities

Coordinate with PMU/PMC to identify the market-driven crops and their variety feasible as per geographical and agro-climatic conditions of the cluster.

Preparation of a road map for ensuring the availability of high-quality planting material of the selected crop and its variety

Assist DIU to select the crops and prepare the crop calendar based on the SHEP approach

Preparation of packages and practices of crops to produce the quality and marketable surplus.

He will review and monitor the crop wise /Cluster wise Physical and Financial targets and achievements every month and send the assessment report to every DIU in four districts

Preparation of training modules for targeted beneficiaries.

Preparation of Annual Action Plans, track of disbursements and obtain UC/SOE on monthly basis

Inspections of activities executed in clusters with the coordination of DIU/HMT.

Preparation of protocol for nursery development.

Identification of location specific interventions to mitigate the climate change effect.

Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats analysis of Clusters.

Perform and support horticultural practices, including sustainability and integrated pest management practices and INM which encourage overall plant and soil health.

Assist in the procurement of related input materials required, such as seeds and other critical inputs for every district, well in advance before the season, for smoother implementation of the Project.

Arrangement of record keeping related to planning, implementation and monitoring.

Preparation of information/daily monthly, quarterly, and annual reports/road map etc. or as per directions of PMU.

Coordination with stakeholders of the Project.

Develop a daily work record book for farmers

Submission of Monthly report, and tour details to the PMU authority and get their advice from time to time for improvement and fine tuning of his services.

Any other work assigned by the project authorities.
