Job Description

We are seeking a Business Analysis Manager (Mass Adjustment) to join Optum. In this internal-facing leadership role, you will oversee a team of five professionals responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and validating data that impacts members, clients, OptumRx, and key business processes. You will work closely with operational partners to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency across all deliverables.

This role requires exceptional organizational skills, strong analytical capability, and specialized knowledge of pharmacy benefits. As Manager, you will be accountable for upholding high standards of precision within the team, driving process improvements, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, a solid work ethic, and the ability to lead effectively under tight deadlines. Critical thinking, prioritization, and adaptability are essential for success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of five individuals performing detailed claim analysis, mass adjustment requests, and benefit setup research impacting member payments.
  • Review and validate team analyses for accuracy, completeness, and quality; conduct analyses as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with key business partners and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with client account teams and cross-functional departments to address business needs and resolve complex issues.
  • Deliver clear explanations, interpretations, and actionable recommendations based on reporting results.
  • Drive process efficiencies and promote continuous improvement within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with RxClaim.
  • Working experience in PBM and pharmacy benefit structures.
  • Graduate degree.
  • 9+ years of total work experience.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in Financial or Report Analysis roles.
  • 2+ years of applying analytical and critical thinking skills in a professional environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Exceptional communication, project management, organizational, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in people management.
  • Financial, accounting, or remediation experience.
  • SQL proficiency (tables, joins, and query writing).
