AS we enter into the third decade of operation, GBO leadership have set themselves, within their overall strategy, a bold vision – “To Be the Trusted and Respected Business Change & Transformation partner at Diageo, empowering functions to reinvent themselves and deliver strategic benefit to the business” Over the course of the next 2 years, GBO is looking to reinvent itself to achieve this vision.
GBO is looking to hire a Project Manager who will be part of the central Change and Transformation function for GBO, delivering complex and cross functional projects that require solutions to often complex business, operational, financial, legal and regulatory change.
Purpose of Role
Project managers are responsible for driving sophisticated projects from start to finish; proactively handling project risks, accurately reporting project progress to the Programme manager, and confidently working with business customers to ensure quality delivery and timely completion of the project.
The team will work in close collaboration with GPOs, technology teams, service delivery and markets across all levels of Diageo, as well as partners and third-party suppliers.
Top Accountabilities
Working closely with the GPOs, Technology, Markets and 3rd party partners, function heads and customers at all levels
Driving the implementation of the project daily with regards to time, budget and quality
Defining the scope for projects with key customers, ensuring that benefits are identified and supervised
Defining project landmarks and results
Preparing cases; acquiring and seeking budget
Selecting, developing and leading all aspects of an effective team, coordinating their activities and evaluating their performance
Working with multiple delivery and business partner teams to deliver change at pace and control project outcomes
Maintaining programme and project plans, including budget /resource plans
Developing effective governance frameworks; handling weekly/monthly Governance forums
RAID management – Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependency Management
Monitoring, reporting, and effective communication of project progress against plan to delivery teams, sponsors, customers, PMO and other governance bodies.
Developing a consulting approach towards engagement and challenges through problem solving and critical thinking
Proactively lead project risks, resolve issues, and handle customer concerns
Key Proficiencies
Technical
Extensive program/ project planning and execution skills in handling large and sophisticated change and transformation programs/projects
Experience of using a variety of project and business organisational change methodologies
Tried project and modelling skills, to represent information in forms that improve decision making and communications.
Solid understanding of Global Change delivery and program lifecycle
Guide user of MS Project, JIRA or similar project management tools and MS Visio.
Proficient in MS Office.
Understanding of Lean / Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement
Understanding of Finance processes O2C, S2P, R2R
Behavioral/ Leadership
Strong communication and documentation skills
Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Customer management with a global attitude; decision-making, influencing and challenging ability
Hard-working and can empower other towards project goals
Qualifications and Experience Required
Education and Qualifications
Educated to a degree level or equivalent
Accredited at Guide level in Lean or Black Belt Six Sigma certified
Professional Project Management Practitioner level qualification.
Experience
Overall 10+ years experience and relevant 3-5 years’ experience in Project Management or a related area
Recognised Subject Matter Authority in lean project management and governance
Significant experience with sophisticated projects and benefits management in finance and HR projects
Rich experience of handling small transformation teams of senior customers
Experience of working in professional services or financial/HR shared services
Experience of automation technologies / implementation, data projects
