Title: Enterprise Software Engineer BI Manager

About the Role: 

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Software Engineer BI Manager to lead our Business Intelligence (BI) team in India. In this role, you’ll oversee a team of skilled analysts responsible for delivering analytics solutions to support various Wolters Kluwer business units. You’ll leverage your expertise in BI and SAP technologies to guide projects from concept through execution, providing data-driven insights that drive strategic decisions and optimize business operations.

Responsibilities: 

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of analysts to deliver effective analytics solutions for projects and operational support across multiple Wolters Kluwer business units. 
• Develop and implement a business intelligence strategy aligned with organizational goals, enabling data-driven decision-making. 
• Drive analytics projects from ideation to execution, ensuring solutions meet business requirements. 
• Apply strong communication and problem-solving skills to guide the development team on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of data and reports. 
• Collaborate with technology and business teams, sharing domain knowledge and providing input on BI solutions. 
• Serve as a liaison between Information Technology teams and business stakeholders, maintaining awareness of end-to-end processes. 
• Build trust with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather requirements and propose appropriate solutions. 
• Lead the resolution of complex technical issues using advanced analytical skills, ensuring the Operations team delivers on job monitoring, enhancements, defect identification, and process improvements. 
• Coach and develop BI team members, offering feedback, recognition, and motivation during 1:1 discussions and team meetings. 
• Ensure the BI team, including ETL developers, report designers, and data analysts, has the necessary training and skills to deliver high-quality, secure, and best-practice data solutions. 
• Manage onboarding and offboarding of BI team employees and contractors as needed. 
• Collaborate with project managers, IT leaders, and business stakeholders to allocate resources based on project and operational demands. 

Required qualifications and experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus. 
• Experience: 9-10 years of broad IT experience, with 5-7 years managing BI teams to deliver ETL, reporting, and data analytics solutions. 
• Strong understanding of data visualization, reporting, and analytics tools. 
• Proficiency in ETL/data integration, SAP technologies (SAP BW, SAP HANA, SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud), and data reporting/analytics processes. 
• In-depth knowledge of data warehouse design and architecture, including dimensional modeling principles (star and snowflake schemas, de-normalized structures, slowly changing dimensions, etc.). 
• Solid foundation in RDBMS and cloud data warehouse platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Oracle, DB2, MySQL, SQL Server), including data modeling and DataMart design. 
• Experience with data engineering tools like Informatica and SAP Business Objects Data Services (BODS) is preferred. 
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven record in stakeholder management. 
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
