What You'll Work On

High-level research areas (not exhaustive):

Reasoning Extraction - Build pipelines to extract structured patterns from messy customer data (interviews, chats, surveys). LLM-powered extraction with quality validation.

Model Fine-tuning - Train custom reasoning models using LoRA, DPO, and preference learning. Design evaluation frameworks for subjective tasks.

Simulation & Validation - Validate simulated behavior against real customers. Experimental design, statistical testing, causal inference.

Cognitive Architecture - Implement memory systems, planning mechanisms, and multi-agent interactions.

Ideal Candidate

Must Have:

- Strong statistics foundation (hypothesis testing, experimental design, causal inference)

- LLM experience (APIs, prompt engineering; ideally fine-tuning)

- Python fluency (pandas, PyTorch, scikit-learn)

- Research mindset: design experiments, not just run code

Highly Valued:

- Completed ML/NLP/stats coursework

- Familiar with Generative Agents or agent-based modeling papers

- Experience with LLM evaluation or human studies

- Background in psychology/behavioral economics

- Publications or strong research projects

Bonus:

- Built agent-based models or cognitive architectures

- Open-source contributions
