Looker Developer || GCP Data Engineer

Experience Level: 5+ years in Looker along with the Bigquery

Role Summary:

The Data Engineer will focus on preparing, validating, and ensuring the quality of data required. They will work on pipelines, transformations, and automation to ensure entity mappings are accurate and data is reliable for Looker dashboards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform data transformations to enable entity-level tagging across lookup tables.
• Build pipelines or automation scripts to validate and maintain mapping accuracy.
• Partner with Backend Engineer to ensure schema updates are correctly populated with data.
• Support RBAC rollout by ensuring clean and consistent datasets flow into Looker.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineers to align the LookML layer with validated data.

Skills & Experience (must-have):

• Strong SQL and Python skills for data transformation.
• Hands-on experience with BigQuery (data structures, partitioning, optimization).
• LookML (Looker Modeling Language) experience for validating datasets and ensuring semantic consistency.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Dataflow, Composer).
• Strong understanding of data quality frameworks and validation techniques .
• 57+ years of experience in data engineering.
