Linux Kernel Networking Expert

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Linux Kernel Networking Expert to join their Platform Drivers team. The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain robust code, contributing to the development of industryleading technologies.

Key Skills Required

• Experience, with at least 5+ years in Linux driver development.
• Proven expertise in Linux kernel development with a focus on networking drivers and related stack.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and software layers within the Linux kernel.
• Demonstrated contributions to Linux kernel patches and upstream projects.
• Proficiency in C programming and kernel debugging tools.
• Solid understanding of computer architecture, networking technologies, and I/O subsystems.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Excellent problemsolving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Handson experience with Synopsys Ethernet IP is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Linux kernel, focusing on networking drivers and stack subsystems.
• Develop, test, and optimize kernel patches for L2 (MAC) Layer device drivers to enhance functionality, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to design and implement new features and improvements.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Linux networking drivers and stack.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in the Linux kernel community and contribute to upstream projects.
• Document design specifications, technical details, and user guides for developed features and patches.
