Linux Developer

Must have:

Linux Expert, OS Kernel, OS Security & File System/Disk Encryption, C, C++, Securing boot process and bootloader, knowledge on Debian and other Linux Distributions

Responsibilities:

1. Developing Netboot/UEFI Boot OS and Installable OS.
2. Linux (Debian/Ubuntu) installation and operation. Familiarity and fluency with Linux/Ubuntu OS Terminal/command line.
3. Knowledge of Ubuntu Linux internals, especially the boot process. Knowledge of the OS-level services that come by default in Linux and whitelisting services/processes.
4. Modifying the Boot sequence, Setup and Configuration of Ubuntu Linux and rootfs.
5. Experience in developing a customized variant of Linux from Debian/known base OS– essentially by stripping off services and programs not required. Hardening the OS.
6. Modifying/Configuring the desktop environment (GNOME/ICEWM.. etc) for securing the desktop user space and locking all functionalities/shortcuts to fully restrict the access and modification to System Settings/Controls/GNOME Installer… etc to fully secure the user space from any modification. - Must Have
7. Encryption of logical partitions and boot partitions using ubuntu native encryption (e.g. Luks) or any other encryption tool – Must Have
8. Securing boot process, bootloaders (GRUB/LILO) and initrd (initramfs) – Must Have
9. Knowledge on OS Kernel-level programming, developing Kernel integrity controls, developing Kernel aware applications – Must Have
10. Knowledge on System Hardware/Network level components.
