Job Description: Embedded Linux Developer (35 Years Experience)

Location: Pune

Position Summary

We are looking for an Embedded Linux Developer with 35 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems development. The role involves working on Linux BSPs, drivers, and applications for custom embedded hardware, collaborating closely with hardware and system teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded Linux software for custom hardware platforms
• Work on Linux kernel configuration, Device Drivers, and BSP customization
• Support board bring-up , bootloader (U-Boot ) configuration, and system initialization
• Develop and optimize embedded applications using C/C++
• Configure and maintain Yocto / Buildroot-based build systems
• Debug issues across kernel, driver, and application layers
• Work closely with hardware, QA, and system teams during bring-up and validation
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and unit testing
• Assist in performance optimization, power management, and basic security features

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 35 years of experience in Embedded Linux development
• Strong proficiency in C / C++
• Hands-on experience with : Linux kernel and device driver development, U-Boot, Yocto / Buildroot, Cross-compilation and debugging
• Working knowledge of hardware interfaces : I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, USB, Ethernet
• Debugging experience using: GDB, strace, JTAG, logic analyzer, oscilloscope
• Familiarity with Git and basic CI workflows

Good to Have (Optional / Preferred Skills)

• RTOS + Linux experience in the same system
• Networking protocols: TCP/IP, MQTT, CANopen, Modbus
• Exposure to secure boot, HSM
• Experience with IoT, Telematics or cloud-connected devices
• Background in automotive good to have

Education

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics and Computer Science
