About the Role


We are hiring for one of our clients, a leading tier 2 Law Firm, based in Mumbai.

They are looking for a Manager - Knowledge Management, who needs to be a dynamic and high-energy professional to manage their Knowledge Management (KM) and Legal Operations function.

This role will be central to enhancing internal legal workflows, driving legal tech adoption, improving operational efficiency, and supporting seamless client delivery.

The ideal candidate is process-oriented, tech-savvy, and passionate about building systems that strengthen the firms legal practice and client service model.


Key Responsibilities

1. Knowledge Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the firms Knowledge Management framework.
  • Organize and curate precedents, templates, research materials, and legal updates.
  • Work closely with practice groups to standardize documents and best practices.
  • Create systems for knowledge sharing, training, and continuous learning across the firm.
  • Ensure KM databases are updated, searchable, and user-friendly.


2. Legal Operations

  • Lead firmwide legal operations initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and productivity.
  • Design and optimize workflows for matter lifecycle management, billing, compliance, and client reporting.
  • Drive implementation of metrics, dashboards, and performance tracking for legal teams.
  • Collaborate with partners and fee-earners to streamline cross-functional operations.


3. Legal Tech Adoption

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement legal technology tools (document management, AI research platforms, project management, automation tools, etc.).
  • Oversee onboarding, training, and ongoing use of adopted tech solutions.
  • Manage vendor relationships and monitor ROI on legal tech investments.
  • Stay updated on legal innovation trends and bring forward improvement opportunities.


4. Client Delivery & Support

  • Support client-facing teams in managing workflows, deadlines, documentation, and quality control.
  • Assist in preparing pitches, client reports, and solution-driven process proposals.
  • Ensure operational excellence in client delivery through well-designed internal systems.


Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of law firm operations and legal processes.
  • Prior experience in Knowledge Management or Legal Operations within a law firm or legal department.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Tech-savvy with exposure to legal tech platforms or process automation tools.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and training skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a problem-solving and ownership mindset.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Law.
  • MBA, LLM, or certification in KM / legal operations / project management is an advantage.
  • Excellent command over spoken English
  • 9-11 years of relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal function.
  • Experience in the Knowledge Management team is preferred.
