Hiring for Assistant Manager - Legal for leading Agribusiness Company

Key Responsibilities

1. Litigation & Dispute Management

Handle and manage litigation matters across civil, criminal, and tribunal forums.

File, defend, and monitor suits, complaints, and cases for and against the Company.

Coordinate with advocates, solicitors, and law firms and follow up with court authorities.

Provide regular status updates on ongoing litigation to the Legal Department

2. Recovery & Legal Notices

Manage recovery of dues from distributors, customers, and other parties.

Draft and respond to legal notices issued by government departments and third parties.

Handle recovery proceedings under the Negotiable Instruments Act and other applicable laws.

3. Contracts & Documentation

Draft, vet, and review various agreements, contracts, and legal documents.

Support business teams in ensuring legally sound commercial arrangements.

4. Compliance & Advisory

Ensure compliance with applicable laws including Insecticides Act, Seeds Act, land laws, and other relevant statutes.

Ensure timely reporting and compliance tracking through Legatrix Compliance Software.

Advise business teams on legal implications of products, processes, and operations.

5. Property & Land Matters

Verify property and land-related documents.

Liaise with advocates for purchase and documentation of land.

Maintain updated records of all Company properties.

6. Business Support

Represent the Company before statutory and regulatory authorities as required.

Support the Marketing team in credit appraisal of distributors and customers.

Provide ongoing legal assistance and support across departments.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Graduate with a Law degree (Commerce graduate preferred)

Experience:

Minimum 710 years of post-qualification experience in a corporate legal department of a Public Limited Company or as a practicing Advocate

Industry Preference: Manufacturing industry; exposure to agri and/or seed

industry preferred
