JD for Legal Manager (IP)

Responsibilities

• Handle IPR portfolio management including filing, prosecution of Patents and Trademarks globally.
• Manage day-to-day function for management of compliance with Data Privacy Laws.
• Draft, modify and implement company policies in relation to Data Privacy, OSS and Web scraping.
• Monitor enforcement actions against any Patents or Trademarks filed by the Company globally.
• Prepare, review, and modify legal documents/contractual instruments to assist and support various business activities/functional departments.
• Assess and identify potential Patents for the company basis discussions with the Business Teams.
• Assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks pertaining to OSS, IP etc.
• Ability to conduct due diligence for the IP and OSS portfolio for any target entity for the purposes of investment or acquisition.
• Keep abreast of legal & regulatory developments within or outside of the country as well as evolving best practices in areas of Data Privacy, OSS, AI and IPR.
• Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate,
• Supervise project interns on day-to-day Legal operations.

Requirements

• LLB from a reputed University
• Experience in technology laws, intellectual assets & property, open-source licensing, contract compliance
• Must have an engineering degree or background.
• In-depth knowledge of the industry’s standards and regulations
• Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping
• A business acumen partnered with a dedication to law
• Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities
• Characteristics of a forward thinker and self-starter that flourishes with new challenges and adapts quickly to learning new knowledge
• An analytical mind able to “see” the complexities of procedures and regulations
• Excellent communication skills
