Job Title: State Legal Manager Recovery & Litigation

Location: Bengaluru

Experience: 5-8 Years

Job Purpose: To lead and manage all legal actions related to recovery, arbitration, and litigation across the country. The role ensures timely legal interventions, effective case handling, compliance with regulatory requirements, and support to regional teams to improve recoveries and reduce delinquency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Legal Recovery & Litigation Management

Lead and supervise all legal recovery actions including Section 138 cases, Arbitration, SARFAESI (if applicable), Civil Suits, Criminal Complaints, and Lok Adalat matters.

Strategically plan legal actions to maximize recovery from delinquent and NPA accounts.

Ensure effective litigation management by coordinating with external lawyers, law firms, and recovery agents.

Review and approve case filings, notices, and legal documentation across regions.

Monitor progress of legal cases and ensure timely closure with favourable outcomes.

2. Arbitration & Pre-Litigation

Drive arbitration processes nationally for overdue and NPA accounts.

Ensure adherence to Arbitration & Conciliation Act requirements and internal policies.

Oversee the issuance of demand notices, appointment of arbitrators, and award execution.

3. Lawyer & Vendor Management

Identify, empanel, and monitor external legal counsels, recovery agents, and agencies.

Conduct periodic performance reviews of legal vendors.

Negotiate fee structures and ensure cost-effective legal operations.

4. Compliance & Documentation

Ensure all legal processes are compliant with RBI guidelines, NBFC norms, and internal credit/collections policy.

Vet and review legal documents including loan agreements, notices, pleadings, and affidavits.

Maintain proper records of legal files, case statuses, and MIS.
