Legal Executive

The Legal Executive will assist in a broad range of advisory, collaborative, partnerships with cross functional teams such as Research & Development, Information Security, Delivery Assurance Group, as well as perform andsupervise administrative and organizational tasks related to AI Governance, Intellectual Property and Open Sourcecompliance, apart from other technology focused initiatives, ensuring efficient execution of processes.

Job Responsibilities

AI Laws

Support in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance for practical AI governance frameworks and acceptable use policies.

Facilitate responses to internal inquiries and guidance to Quantiphis internal teams on AI usage.

Conduct research and preliminary analysis on emerging AI laws to assist in providing accurate legal advisory and compliance monitoring.

Assist in identifying potential risks related to data privacy and copyright within AI model training and deployment workflows.

Maintain ongoing awareness of Data regulations worldwide, case law, and regional trends to effectively support internal compliance initiatives.

Intellectual Property

Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, inventors, external counsels etc., to manage formalities and procedural matters related to IP filings.

Understanding of the patenting process and ensuring timely management of applications in examination.

Ensure timely filing of patent applications and maintain accurate tracking through detailed statistics, deadline monitoring and patent docket reports

Efficiently managing communications regarding IP formalities and procedural matters.

Participate in IP related meetings and prepare meeting minutes and reports.

Handle queries of External Counsel and others on IP prosecution.

Manage the docketing invention disclosures and preparing confirmation emails to inventors and other relevant stakeholders.

Preparing patent filing reports for inventors and other relevant stakeholders.

Comprehensive knowledge of trademark laws. Perform searches by utilizing trademark databases and compiling detailed search reports.

Open Source Software

Manage processes for tracking Open Source components, such as creating a Software Bill of Materials(SBOM), in product and service releases.

Assess risks related to data privacy and copyright issues specifically within AI model training and deployment processes.

Conduct specialized training for Research and Development (R&D) teams on topics like license compatibility (e.g., GPL vs. MIT) and safe, ethical AI usage.

Work closely with software developers to review hosted third-party software, models, and datasets for content compliance.

Qualification:

Bachelors Degree in Law, with strong academic records, specialization in the field of intellectual property, open source or artificial intelligence is preferable.

Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in the field of patents, trademarks either in a law firm or inhouse legal department.

Must have knowledge/experience of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating technology agreements, including SaaS contracts, inbound/outbound software licensing, and technology transfer arrangements.

Must be a team player with strong communication skills and should have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other team members.

Must be able to supervise a paralegal to ensure standards of record keeping and organisation are maintained and followed as per process.

Must be detail-oriented with an analytical personality, i.e. a strong ability to work with IT tools, IP

databases and google applications in particular advanced level of MS-Excel/Google Sheets.

Staying informed about emerging trends in AI governance, ethics, and open-source legal developments worldwide.

Effective at organizing and managing documentation, records, and legal files with accuracy and efficiency.

High degree of professionalism and the ability to work independently.
