Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement test plans for new products, specifying required stages and quality checkpoints to meet customer specifications
- Select, install, and validate test equipment and software for production lines, ensuring readiness for pilot runs
- Work with design and engineering teams to optimize products for testability, integrating testing into NPI processes
- Monitor trial and initial production results, troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and improve efficiency and reliability
- Assist with RFQs by estimating test requirements and ensuring project specifications match customer expectations
- Oversee test strategy and implementation for production lines launched via Business Development.
- Define, deploy, and maintain test equipment and processes for new products, ensuring robust testing and quality from launch
- Evaluate Design for Test (DFT) during RFQ and design phases
- Install and qualify test stations
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate testing into production
Must-Have Skills
- Skilled in comprehensive PCBA testing (ICT, Flying Probe, AOI, AXI, functional), troubleshooting, and DFT analysis
- Experienced in statistical methods to reduce false fails and enhance test efficiency
- Proficient with ATE tools, fixture design, and reliability testing
- Effective at process improvement to reduce cycle time and increase yield
- Domain expertise in electronics manufacturing understanding the workflows of PCB assembly test in an EMS setting
- Familiarity with industry standards and quality systems (e.g., IPC-A-610 for PCB acceptability, ISO 9001) to ensure test processes meet compliance and customer requirements
- Able to contribute technical input during pre-sales/RFQ phases (estimating test equipment needs, cycle time, manpower for new projects).
- Willingness to adapt in a dynamic, customer-driven environment and handle multiple project priorities
- Occasional travel for equipment buy-offs or customer meetings as needed
