Position Summary

Saarthee is looking for a Staff Technical Lead / Architect to anchor and scale a new engineering team dedicated to Cloud Streaming platforms. This hybrid role blends deep hands-on engineering with architectural ownership, where you will drive the design of complex distributed systems while partnering with domain experts to build a high-performing team from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Architecture & System Evolution

• Design and evolve scalable distributed systems supporting live streaming platforms
• Drive architectural direction across Kubernetes-based control planes, distributed state machines, and storage systems
• Contribute hands-on code to validate architectural decisions and model engineering best practices
• Modernize legacy systems while maintaining high availability and operational resilience
• Guide complex production issue resolution with durable, system-level fixes

Scale Engineering Teams

• Embed with existing teams to absorb system knowledge, operational workflows, and domain context
• Translate domain expertise into onboarding materials, technical standards, and knowledge frameworks
• Serve as the technical anchor and escalation point for the new team while maintaining strong alignment with core development teams
• Mentor and grow engineers into domain experts capable of independently supporting critical production systems
• Establish high standards for debugging rigor, documentation, observability, and operational excellence

Drive Cross-Team Collaboration

• Partner with infrastructure, SRE, hardware, and product teams to ensure scalable and resilient platform design
• Balance long-term modernization strategy with near-term production priorities
• Contribute to broader initiatives such as Kubernetes platform evolution, cloud-native architecture, and AI-assisted developer productivity

Required Skills

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience building and operating distributed systems at scale
• 7+ years of hands-on development in Java, Rust, Python, C++, or similar
• Strong production experience with Kubernetes; controllers, operators, and CRDs are a plus
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, storage architectures (object/block), networking, and high-availability design
• Proven ability to lead cross-team technical initiatives and influence without direct authority
• Strong debugging, root cause analysis, and incident leadership skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including architectural documentation

Nice to Have

• Experience with streaming platforms, cloud gaming, or large-scale distributed systems
• Infrastructure-as-code experience (CDK, Terraform) and Kubernetes tooling (Helm, ArgoCD)
• Experience with hardware-integrated or fleet orchestration systems
• Track record of mentoring engineers and scaling distributed teams
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern cloud-native practices
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-evolving environments
