Job Description
Role Summary
The lead - strategy will drive the long-term strategic roadmap, growth initiatives, investment planning, and ecosystem partnerships for L&T Vyomas Digital Infrastructure and AI Data Centre business. The role will be responsible for portfolio strategy, capital allocation, bid governance, pricing strategy, enterprise risk oversight, and management information systems (MIS) to enable data-driven executive decision-making.
The position will work closely with the CXOs to ensure sustainable growth, competitive positioning, and long-term value creation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Portfolio Management
- Define and periodically update the 5-year strategic business plan and capacity expansion roadmap across Data Centres, Cloud, AI Infrastructure, and Digital Platforms.
- Lead portfolio prioritization across projects based on return metrics, strategic importance, and risk exposure.
- Identify adjacencies in digital infrastructure including AI factories, sovereign cloud, edge deployments, and managed infrastructure services.
2. Business Development & Strategic Partnerships
- Develop structured enterprise client acquisition and diversification strategies in coordination with the commercial and sales teams.
- Drive government engagement strategies for sovereign AI infrastructure and digital public infrastructure projects.
- Support strategic contract structuring including long-term capacity reservation and anchor tenant partnerships.
3. Bid Strategy, Pricing & Commercial Governance
- Establish enterprise-wide bid governance frameworks for large infrastructure, cloud, and AI platform deals.
- Lead strategic pricing frameworks for colocation, managed services, sovereign cloud, GPU cloud, and hyperscale contracts.
- Oversee bid risk evaluation, margin protection strategies, and competitive positioning.
- Guide commercial negotiations for long-term enterprise and hyperscaler contracts.
4. Management Information Systems (MIS) & Performance Analytics
- Establish executive MIS dashboards for capacity utilization, revenue mix, profitability, pricing realization, and portfolio returns.
- Drive monthly and quarterly business performance reviews with leadership.
- Develop predictive analytics models for demand forecasting, capacity planning, and capital deployment.
- Institutionalize KPI-driven performance management frameworks across business verticals.
5. Market Intelligence & Competitive Strategy
- Build an intelligence framework tracking data centre, cloud, and AI infrastructure developments.
- Benchmark competitive positioning across hyperscale operators, colocation providers, and GPU cloud platforms.
- Track technology shifts in cooling, chip architecture, energy optimization, and modular infrastructure.
- Provide strategic insights on regulatory policies, energy markets, and digital sovereignty trends.
6. Risk Management & Governance
- Develop enterprise risk management frameworks covering investment, regulatory, operational, technology, and market risks.
- Oversee bid-stage risk evaluation including contractual, financial, execution, and counterparty risks.
- Ensure alignment with corporate governance, compliance standards, and audit requirements.
8. Executive Governance & Board Engagement
- Prepare Board papers on investment proposals, expansion strategies, and major partnerships.
- Support CXOs in strategic decision-making through insights and scenario modelling.
- Drive cross-functional strategic alignment across business, finance, technology, and operations teams.
Candidate Profile
Experience
- 1020 years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Infrastructure Strategy, Consulting, or Business Development.
- Strong exposure to Digital Infrastructure, Data Centres, Cloud Platforms, Energy Infrastructure, or Large-Scale EPC businesses.
- Experience in investment evaluation, bid strategy, commercial negotiations, and strategic planning.
- Experience working with senior leadership and Boards on capital allocation and long-term growth strategy.
Knowledge & Expertise
- Understanding of data centre economics, cloud business models, and AI infrastructure value chains.
- Expertise in financial modelling, pricing strategy, and portfolio performance analytics.
- Familiarity with hyperscaler ecosystems, sovereign cloud frameworks, and enterprise digital transformation.
Leadership Skills
- Strong strategic thinking and structured problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Executive maturity and stakeholder management capability.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Technology
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree preferred
