Lead Source Inspector supporting complex audits and client escalations

Role Purpose

To lead and oversee third-party inspection activities, manage complex inspections and audits, and act as the senior technical and quality authority for clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex source inspections and critical supplier audits

• Act as escalation point for inspection disputes and quality issues

• Conduct supplier quality audits and surveillance activities

• Review and approve inspection methodologies and reports

• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer, and regulatory requirements

• Interface directly with client quality leadership and auditors

• Guide and mentor senior and junior inspectors

• Support inspection strategy, risk assessment, and inspection planning

• Represent the organization in high-stakes quality discussions

• Travel extensively as required for critical inspections and audits

Required Experience & Skills

• 1220+ years in quality inspection, supplier quality, or quality auditing

• Deep experience in aerospace / defense / regulated industries

• Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001, special processes

• Proven client-facing and audit-handling experience

• Ability to make independent quality decisions under pressure

• Leadership mindset with hands-on inspection capability

Nice to Have

• Lead Auditor certification (AS9100 / ISO)

• Experience with defense or aerospace OEM programs

• Prior consulting or third-party inspection background
