Lead Software Engineer - Fullstack Java Developer

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Employee Experience Technology organization, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Build and maintain back-end services and APIs using Java and frameworks such as Spring or Hibernate.
• Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the team is using the best tools and techniques.
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Experience working as a professional UI developer with Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Full Stack Development primarily in Java, Springboot, Hibernate on cloud, RESTFul API and Microservices development
• Practical cloud native experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience working in Databases and ability to write sql queries.
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle,      understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity with front-end technologies - Reactjs
• Familiarity with working in event driven environments, messaging platforms, modern front-end technologies
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
