As a Lead Software Engineer - Android at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Regularly leads and mentor a team of mobile application and full-stack developers, fostering collaboration and growth.
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Android application development and 5+ years applied experience
- Experience leading mobile technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Hands-on practical experience in one or more mobile application development environments, Android
- Advanced in Jetpack Compose, Java, Kotlin, Coroutines, Android Studio
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Experience with UX and end user experience
- Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives.
- Practical cloud native experience and mobile application deployment
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working with CI/CD tools like Jenkins
- Familiarity with web application development
