Lead Simulation Engineer - CFD

We are looking for Lead Simulation Engineer - CFD,

Experience: 4-10 years

Location: Bangalore

JD:

1. CFD Software Expertise: Proficient in using commercial CFD software like ANSYS Fluent, SCFLOW/SCRYU/Tetra, PowerFLOW, StarCCM+.
2. CAD Modeling: Ability to create accurate 3D models of tractor components using software like SolidWorks, CATIA, or Unigraphics.
3. Meshing Techniques: Understanding of mesh generation techniques to accurately represent complex geometries.
4. Post-processing: Ability to analyze and interpret simulation results, including visualization and data extraction.

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

Must-Have**

• Deep understanding of fluid flow principles, including turbulent flow, boundary layers, and aerodynamic drag, HVAC, Thermal management.
• Knowledge of heat transfer mechanisms like conduction, convection, and radiation, especially relevant for engine cooling systems.
• Familiarity with tractor components like chassis, engine, muffler and exhaust, tires, and their impact on fluid flow.

Good-to-Have

Tractor/agricultural farming equipment and construction equipment application experience

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role

1 Problem-solving: Ability to identify issues in simulations, troubleshoot convergence problems, and optimize model parameters.

2 Communication: Effectively collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to translate simulation results into practical design decisions.

3 Validation and Verification: Understanding the importance of validating simulation results against real-world test data.

4 Performing CFD simulations to optimize tractor aerodynamics for fuel efficiency.

5 Analyzing engine cooling system performance through CFD simulations

6 Investigating the impact of different tire designs on traction and fuel consumption

7 Identifying potential flow issues within the tractor chassis and suggesting design modifications

8 Developing and validating CFD models for new tractor designs
