Lead SEO

1.      Proven experience (10+ years) in SEO, preferably in a digital news or media environment. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

2.      Experience managing and mentoring a team.

3.      Strong understanding of how news breaks, and how to capitalize on trending stories.

4.      Manage and mentor a team of SEO specialists, providing guidance and support to achieve team goals.

5.      Create and execute a comprehensive SEO strategy aligned with our business goals, focusing on organic traffic growth and improved search engine rankings.

6.      Must have strong data driven tactics to make informed decisions that drive organic growth. He/She should oversee the use of SEO tools like Google Analytics 4 and SEMrush to track performance metrics and adjust the SEO strategy as needed. A typical day might involve reviewing reports, analyzing shifts in traffic patterns, and adjusting keyword or content strategies to address new opportunities or challenges​.

7.      Collaborate with the editorial team to optimize news articles, videos, and other content for search engines, ensuring adherence to SEO best practices.

8.      SEO Head is also responsible for managing external relationships with SEO vendors and agencies. He/She will evaluate external partners, ensure alignment with company goals, and oversee the execution of outsourced SEO projects.

9.      Oversee technical SEO audits, identify and resolve website issues, and ensure optimal website performance for search engines.

10.Stay up to date with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry best practices.

11.Conduct regular competitive analysis to identify opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.

12.Work closely with the editorial, marketing, and product/development teams to ensure seamless integration of SEO strategies.

13.Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., Drupal/WordPress) and HTML/Scripting/CSS is a plus.
