Senior Engineer - QA

Location: Pune

The Senior QA is responsible for designing, developing, and executing manual and automated test cases while collaborating with teams to meet business and technical requirements ensuring high-quality software delivery. This role involves identifying defects, analyzing issues, improving testing processes, and contributing to overall product quality.

Key Responsibilities :

• Test Planning and Execution : Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios to validate software functionality, usability, and performance.
• Defect Management : Identify, log, track, and report software defects, ensuring timely resolution by collaborating with development teams.
• Quality Standards : Ensure compliance with quality assurance processes, guidelines, and best practices throughout the SDLC.
• Requirement Analysis : Review and analyze business requirements, technical specifications, and use cases to develop robust testing strategies.
• Automation : Utilize testing tools to execute automated and manual tests when appropriate, ensuring efficiency in the testing lifecycle.
• Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to deliver high-quality products.
• Risk Assessment : Evaluate potential risks, prioritize test efforts, and assess impact to ensure reliability of software products.
• Documentation : Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of test cases, test results, and QA processes. Report clearly on the product quality.
• Client Engagement: Engage and communicate directly with client stakeholders for joint platform testing projects where applicable.

Key Skills and Qualifications :

• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance including at least 2+ years working with an automation tool.
• Experience in programming languages, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and Test Management tools is preferred.
• Experience in testing REST APIs and microservices and familiarity with tools such as Postman.
• Experience in designing, executing and reporting performance test cases.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
