We are looking for a Lead - Medical Services, Medanta Labs (Diagnostics Chain) who will be responsible for ensuring technical excellence, process standardization, and quality assurance across growing network of our small to mid-scale laboratories in multiple states.


Key Responsibilities


1. Technical Oversight & Problem Solving

  • Provide expert guidance and support to operational teams, technical staff, and reporting pathologists across all labs in the diagnostics chain
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to sample processing, equipment, methodology, and reporting
  • Ensure accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of test results

2. Expansion & Growth Support

  • Support setup of new laboratories in new cities, ensuring technical infrastructure, SOPs, and quality systems are implemented from the start
  • Evaluate feasibility of new test menus, advanced technologies, and automation to meet growing demands
  • Train and mentor technical staff in newly established labs
  • For the business development team, technical support is essential (as a speaker) during CMEs, round table meetings, and other business-level activities where expert knowledge is required

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to NABL guidelines and other statutory requirements
  • Conduct regular internal audits, quality control checks, and inter-laboratory comparisons
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies related to test reliability, biosafety, and data integrity

4. Process Improvements & Risk Management

  • Continuously review workflows and introduce process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce turnaround times
  • Mitigate operational and technical risks, ensuring business continuity and regulatory compliance
  • Standardize laboratory practices across locations to achieve uniformity and excellence.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with pathologists, operations heads, and quality teams to align business and technical objectives.
  • Lead technical training programs for laboratory staff to enhance skills and performance.
  • Act as the technical spokesperson for the organization in audits, inspections, and professional forums


Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: MD in Pathology (mandatory)
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in pathology and laboratory management, preferably in a retail or multi-location diagnostic chain
  • Strong knowledge of pathology practices, quality management systems, and regulatory standards (NABL/ISO)
  • Experience in handling multi-site laboratory operations will be an advantage
