Function Legal & Recovery

The incumbent will be responsible for leading and managing litigation across jurisdictions, ensuring effective representation, compliance, and strategic legal risk mitigation for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end litigation including civil, criminal, arbitration, consumer, and recovery matters.

Draft, review, and vet legal pleadings, notices, replies, affidavits, and agreements.

Coordinate with external advocates, law firms, and regulatory bodies.

Formulate litigation strategy and ensure timely action in all assigned cases.

Monitor legal recovery matters including NI Act cases, Arbitration, DRT/DRAT, IBC.

Support pre-litigation activities such as dispute resolution, legal notices, and settlement processes.

Ensure compliance with legal, statutory, and regulatory guidelines applicable to the organisation.

Provide legal advisory to business, collections, and operations teams.

Conduct regular reviews of ongoing litigation and maintain MIS dashboards.

Mitigate legal risks by identifying gaps and recommending corrective measures.

Represent the company before courts, authorities, and tribunals wherever required.

Qualification & Experience

LLB / LLM from a reputed law school.

Minimum 10+ years of relevant litigation experience, preferably in NBFC/BFSI/Corporate sector.

Knowledge Areas & Essential Skills

Strong knowledge of civil, criminal, arbitration, recovery laws and regulatory frameworks.

Sound understanding of RBI guidelines, NBFC regulations, SARFAESI, IBC.

Excellent drafting, research, and negotiation skills.

Proven ability to lead legal strategy and manage complex litigation.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Ability to manage tight timelines and high-pressure situations.
