About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-level Splunk solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of Splunk architecture, hands-on Cribl experience, and a proven track record of managing and executing large-scale Splunk SaaS migrations. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end Splunk initiatives, ensuring scalable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive success.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applications
  • Participate in various projects intended to continually improve or upgrade the infrastructure
  • Evaluate internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals
  • Review and analyze high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the future
  • Design, build, deploy and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with the team and third party vendors
  • Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
  • Make decisions in technical designs, implementation plans and identify project risks and resource requirements
  • Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
  • Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and achieve results
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with customer and vendor

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in design, development, and implementation of Splunk architecture and solutions for large scale on-prem/SAAS environments
  • Proven expertise in leading large-scale Splunk SaaS migrations.
  • Proficiency with Cribl Stream, Cribl Edge, or equivalent data pipeline tools.
  • Ability to configure and manage Cribl for advanced data transformation, filtering, enrichment, and routing.
  • Develop complex dashboards, reports, and alerts tailored to business and operational needs.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud environments.
  • 3+ years of strong automation experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.) for automation and API integration.
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems and networking concepts.
  • Worked on a large Splunk infrastructure, including clustered environments, multi-site deployments, and cloud/SAAS deployment.
  • Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Certifications in Splunk, Cribl, or cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).


Job Expectations:

  • Serve as the technical lead for large-scale Splunk SaaS migrations, overseeing planning, execution, and post-migration optimization.
  • Develop complex dashboards, reports, and alerts tailored to business and operational needs.
  • Develop migration strategies, including data ingestion, configuration, and app compatibility assessments.
  • Design data pipelines to optimize Splunk ingestion, reduce licensing costs, and improve system performance.
  • Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks in ingestion, indexing, and search processes.
