Lead Engineer, AI-Driven Solutions

As the Lead Engineer of AI-Driven Solutions, you will:
- Lead a team of software AI engineers to drive the integration of AI, LLMs, and GenAI into UBS's technology services and solutions.
- Develop innovative solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our service lines.
- Advocate for the adoption of AI technologies, promoting awareness and benefits among system architects, engineers, and various stakeholders throughout the firm.
- Gain exposure and experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and React.
- Develop your expertise in Agentic AI / Generative AI solution design and implementation.
- Apply a broad range of engineering practices, including analyzing business requirements and translating them into AI-based solutions that successfully meet business objectives.
- Work in a Git-based continuous improvement / continuous development (CI/CD) pipeline methodology.
- Learn new technologies and practices, reuse strategic platforms and standards, evaluate options, and make decisions with long-term sustainability in mind.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize key use cases, formulate hypotheses, and conduct experiments to validate these hypotheses.
- Present findings to a non-technical audience and provide strategic recommendations.

Your expertise

You have:
- A solid understanding of AI, LLMs, and GenAI technologies.
- A strong track record of successfully architecting and deploying AI-driven technology solutions.
- Experience managing a team with varying skillsets and levels of ability.
- The ability to develop value/client-centric solutions in response to client needs and market trends.
- A thought leader with a proven track record in leading transformational projects.
- Experience with AI in a mission-critical environment.
- Deep understanding of core concepts for Public/Private/Hybrid clouds (networking, policy placement, data privacy, AM, etc.).
- Expertise in AI organization practices, operations, risk management processes, principles, architectural requirements, engineering, and threats and vulnerabilities.
- The ability to work in large, complex, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and a passion for building an engineering and innovation culture.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver iteratively.
- Foundational-level skills in Python and/or NodeJS/React.
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud, including Azure OpenAI Service.
- Understanding of GenAI and Prompt Engineering capabilities.
- (Bonus) Experience with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) applications and pipelines.
- (Bonus) Knowledge of Agentic GenAI frameworks and development.

Objectives
- Identify and define use cases to utilize GenAI.
- Define hypotheses and scope the solution to enable quick iterations with a focus on the main hypothesis.
- Develop software experiments to validate the hypothesis.
- Identify how the potential GenAI-enabled solution can be rolled out to become part of our existing tools and solutions to work more efficiently and less error-prone.
