Role Overview

As an Electrical Lead, you will be responsible for leading all electrical maintenance and support activities at the Kharagpurmanufacturing facility. You will ensureelectrical systems operate reliably, safely, and in support of production goals guiding a team of technicians and collaborating closelywith engineering, maintenance, and operations functions.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance Support

• Lead and supervise electrical maintenance activities for plant equipment, motor control centers(MCCs), switchgears, distribution panels, VFDs, and DG sets.
• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults promptly to minimize downtime.
• Ensure reliable power distribution and optimal performance of electrical systems.

Team Leadership

• Supervise, mentor, and develop electrical technicians and trainees.
• Assign work and ensure adherence to safety practices, SOPs, and quality standards.
• Conduct training for the team on technical and safety procedures.

Safety s Compliance

• Enforce electrical safety rules,lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures, and compliance with statutory regulations.
• Collaborate with EHS teams to support audits and implement corrective actions.

Technical Support

• Support installation and commissioning of new machineryand electrical systems.
• Maintain electrical documentation single line diagrams, layouts, maintenance logs, and work instructions.
• Manage spare parts inventory for critical electrical components.

Coordination Reporting

• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Operations teams for maintenance planning and shutdown activities.
• Prepare reports on maintenance activities, performance, breakdowns, and improvements.

Required Skills Competencies

• Strong troubleshooting skills with hands-on experience in industrial electrical systems.
• Good understanding of electrical distribution, motors, drives, PLCs, instrumentation interfaces, and control systems.
• Leadership and team management capability.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Good communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
• Focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Certification in electrical safety or industrial maintenance (preferred).

Experience

• 6 10 years of experience in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and team leadership in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferably in chemical/agrochemical/plant operations).
