Job Description

Responsibilities

  1. Having eyes on glass 24/7 to enable swift response to any alerts or anomalies

  1. Should be open to work in shift timings to support production environments (S1 - 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM CST/ 10:30 AM - 7:30 PM IST; Shift 2 - 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM CST /6:30 PM - 3:30 AM IST ; Shift 3 - 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM CST/8:30 PM - 5:30 AM IST ; Shift 4 - 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM CST /2:30 AM - 11:30 AM IST)

  1. Database maintenance (Install, configure, and upgrade database software, performing regular backups. Monitoring databases, file growth & disk space usage, implementing monitoring alerts and notifications to proactively identify and address potential issues)

  1. Performance tuning & optimization (Identifying & resolving performance bottlenecks using monitoring tools & techniques, analyzing query execution & optimizing T-SQL queries for enhanced performance, data archiving, purging as per mutually agreed data retention policy)

  1. Troubleshooting and Support (Diagnosing and resolving database-related issues, such as performance degradation, deadlock analysis etc.)

  1. Collaborating with other IT teams to troubleshoot cross-functional issues & providing technical support and guidance to data engineers

  1. Automation and Scripting (e.g. Automating routine tasks such as database backups, index maintenance, and database health checks)

  1. Security Management

  1. High Availability & Disaster recovery

  1. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
