Job Description
Responsibilities
:Key DBA activities include:

Database maintenance (Install, configure, and upgrade database software, performing regular backups. Monitoring databases, file growth & disk space usage, implementing monitoring alerts and notifications to proactively identify and address potential issues)

Performance tuning & optimization (Identifying & resolving performance bottlenecks using monitoring tools & techniques, analyzing query execution & optimizing T-SQL queries for enhanced performance, data archiving, purging as per mutually agreed data retention policy)

Troubleshooting and Support (Diagnosing and resolving database-related issues, such as performance degradation, deadlock analysis etc.)

Collaborating with other IT teams to troubleshoot cross-functional issues & providing technical support and guidance to data engineers

Automation and Scripting (e.g. Automating routine tasks such as database backups, index maintenance, and database health checks)

Security Management

High Availability & Disaster recovery

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
