With this position within Nasdaq's FINTECH division, you will be part of an extensive network of professionals working with our Clearing systems clients around the globe.
We are seeking experienced cloud engineers who have expertise in the implementation of large-scale product integrations in the cloud. The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications and an ability to customize them to help our business become more secure, resilient and efficient. Extensive knowledge of cloud / container deployment and maintenance and advanced industry knowledge are essential to keep us and our clients on the cutting edge. The cloud engineer will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our existing team and an ongoing impact on efficiency and growth.
Career Objectives
• Support successful and efficient Client deployments and integrations of our cloud-enabled financial solutions
• Work with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions and strategies for the company
• Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
• Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to teams to build their cloud competencies and expertise
• Ensure application performance, resilience, and scale, maintaining high standards for solution quality and thoughtful design
• Manage cloud strategy, best practices and environments in accordance with company and industry security guidelines
• Provides support for Nasdaq engineering and operations teams.
• Maintains infrastructure, repairs bugs, and responds to downtime when needed.
• Creates and maintains team knowledgebase articles and FAQs.
• Develops infrastructure in accordance with Nasdaq standards and practices.
• Participates in the design and scoping of solutions with teammates.
• Conduct all business in accordance with Nasdaq policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy and support cloud solutions
- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
- Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary
- Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity
Minimum Requirements:
- You are a multi-skilled, solution-oriented team player with a positive can-do attitude. You can work cross-functionally and internationally in a constantly evolving environment
- Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, architects and subject-matter experts
- 13 or more years of overall experience. 5 or more years of experience in designing, developing, implementing, supporting cloud solutions on AWS platforms including EC2, EKS, S3, EBS, IAM, etc.
- 2 years of experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployment
- Experience with Cloud tools including Terraform, Helm, kubectl, etc.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools including CI/CD pipelines, GIT, GitHub, Jenkins and related tools
- Proficient in Java and working experience in Linux
- Experience working in agile teams either using Scrum or Kanban
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field with relevant work experience
Good to have Skills:
- Proficiency in additional cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience in the Clearing domain, the post-trade domain or financial markets
- Experience in securities related solutions including derivatives
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and virtualization
- Understanding and experience with Open Telemetry and Observability
- International Working Experience in the financial domain
