Job Description
Location: Bangalore (In-Person)
Experience: 35 Years
Core Stack: Node.js/Python, Postgres, Docker
We are building the "nervous system" for the decentralized energy future. The Agentic Grid is a real-world platform where software agents negotiate, trade and settle energy transactions autonomously. We are leveraging the India Energy Stack (IES) and Beckn protocol to create an open, interoperable network for energy assets.
We need a 0-to-1 engineer who can bridge the gap between abstract protocols and production-grade failure-resistant code.
- Protocol Implementation: Translating complex energy coordination protocols into clean, explainable and auditable code.
- The Orchestration Layer: Build the backend that manages the "Handshake" between agents. You will handle webhooks, retries and distributed state without losing data.
- Production Reliability: You aren't just writing code; you are owning the infrastructure. Youll containerize services (Docker) and deploy them (AWS/GCP/Vercel) with robust monitoring.
- Data Integrity: Designing schemas in Postgres/MongoDB that ensure 100% auditability. If an energy trade happens, we need to know why and how it was settled.
- Systems Thinker: You have 35 years of experience building backends where performance and reliability mattered. You understand race conditions, idempotency and JWT-based security.
- The "Anti-Vibe" Coder: You don't just prompt an AI to write a function. You understand why youre using a specific database lock or why a certain async flow is superior.
- DevOps DNA: You believe a feature isn't "done" until it is deployed, monitored and logged.
- Comfortable with Ambiguity: You enjoy the "0 to 1" phase. You can take a rough spec and turn it into a working system with minimal hand-holding.
The Stack:
- Node.js (TypeScript) / Python (FastAPI)
- PostgreSQL / Redis (Pub-Sub)
- Docker / AWS / GCP
- Beckn / IES / Open APIs
- High Ownership: You own the backend. We trust your architectural decisions.
- Zero Bureaucracy: We move fast. We value working code over long meetings.
- Fast Feedback: Youll work directly with the founders and researchers to iterate daily.
- Independence: Ability to write rule-based and heuristic decision logic
Skip the generic cover letter. Instead, please answer these two question via email to jyotirmayee.s@atriauniversity.edu.in
- Describe a real production incident involving a distributed system (e.g. retries, race conditions, partial failures, message duplication, state inconsistency). How did you detect it, narrow down the root cause, and change the system to prevent recurrence?
- Tell us about a time you had to implement a system from a written specification or protocol (open or internal). How did you handle ambiguities in the spec, edge cases, and backward compatibility while keeping the system auditable?
