About the Role

Were hiring ahands-on Lead Backend Engineerto design and build theYQN Core Payments Engine the transactional backbone handling authorization, posting, and reconciliation. This role is deeply technical: youll write highly reliable backend code, embed security best practices, and ensure resilience under real-world financial workloads.

The ideal candidate is an experienced backend developer with strong domain knowledge in payments and a DevSecOps mindset understanding how to design, build, and deploy secure, auditable financial systems.

What Youll Do

• Design and implement theCore Payments Engine, powering transactions, reversals, refunds, and settlements
• BuildACID-compliant,double-entry ledgerservices ensuring complete financial traceability
• Developidempotent,fault-tolerant APIssupporting high throughput and strict integrity
• Drivemicroservices architectureoptimized for scalability, maintainability, and security
• IntegrateDevSecOps practicesinto the development lifecycle:
• Implement secure CI/CD pipelines
• Enforce secrets and key management (Vault, KMS)
• Automate vulnerability scanning and compliance checks
• Collaborate with DevOps for hardened production deployments
• Implement logging, metrics, and observability for real-time monitoring and audits
• Collaborate across teams (product, compliance, site reliability) to release secure, compliant features
• Support code reviews focused on performance, security, and reliability

Required Experience

• 7+ years of backend software development experience, from design to production
• 3+ years infintech / banking / payment systemswith exposure to real-money products
• Track record working with systems likeUPI, wallets, merchant and card acquiring, or payout platforms
• Prior experience with companies such asfintech payments companies in India is a must
• Strong understanding of:
• Payment lifecycles authorization, capture, settlement, refund, reconciliation
• Ledger accounting,ACID properties, andconsistency models
• Distributed systemsandhigh-throughput transaction design
• Secure software engineering,compliance-ready design, andDevSecOps workflows

Tech Stack (Hands-On Expertise Mandatory)

• Java (Spring Boot) transaction and ledger microservices
• Node.js orchestration & integration APIs
• PostgreSQL for strong consistency and financial integrity
• Kafka / OCI Streaming for event-driven transaction orchestration
• Redis caching, idempotency keys, distributed locks
• REST & gRPC service communication standards
• Docker / Kubernetes for secure, containerized deployments
• DevSecOps & Security Tooling: CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Jenkins), KeyCloak/Vault/KMS, SonarQube, OWASP, Prometheus, Grafana, Wazuh
• Cloud OCI / AWS / GCP with emphasis on security, IAM, and observability

Nice to Have

• Familiarity withPCI-DSS,RBI compliance, orISO 27001environments
• Experience withHSM integration,tokenization, orcryptographic services
• Exposure toevent sourcing,CQRS, orfinancial reconciliation pipelines
