Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Backend Developer to architect, build, and scale the robust backend infrastructure that powers RuDo's wealth management platform. This role requires someone who can design secure, high-performance systems capable of handling financial data, real-time portfolio updates, and seamless integrations while ensuring the highest standards of security and compliance in the fintech space.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Architecture & Development

• Design and develop scalable backend services and mobile-optimized RESTful APIs.
• Architect microservices-based systems that support rapid feature delivery and platform scalability.
• Build backend systems for real-time portfolio tracking, automated investing, and AI-driven recommendations.
• Develop portfolio calculation engines, transaction processing systems, and investment execution workflows.

Integrations & Security

• Implement secure integrations with financial data providers, custodians, trading platforms, and banking systems.
• Ensure enterprise-grade security, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure data handling.
• Maintain compliance with financial and data protection regulations relevant to fintech platforms.

Performance & Reliability

• Optimize database performance and queries across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Implement caching strategies and design fault-tolerant systems for high availability.
• Monitor system performance and reliability using logging, alerting, and APM tools.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor junior backend developers and guide best practices across the engineering team.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to technical architecture discussions.
• Collaborate closely with mobile developers, product managers, DevOps, and QA to ensure smooth releases.
• Take ownership of backend deliverables from design through production.

Required Skills

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on backend development experience, preferably in fintech or complex transactional systems.
• Strong expertise in Node.js and/or Python , REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB , and caching systems such as Redis.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices (AWS/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
• Proven ability to design secure, scalable, and resilient backend systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and optimize production systems.
• Excellent communication skills and experience mentoring or leading engineers.
