Job Description

      To liaise with PD VVC and Plant, enable Stage 1 vehicle proto build at Alwar

      To liaise with PD VVC and Plant, enable Stage 2 vehicle pilot build at Alwar

      Feedback to PD VVC team on proto and pilot sign off observations for intermediate/ permanent corrective action for Design release and implementation in plant

      To carry out fitment trial for DFA / DFM points and provide feedback to PD VVC team

      ORT activity for software & hardware testing.

      Support to plant team over production vehicle issues following core team feedback.

      Minor Design improvements based on feedbacks from ALVES team and Core team.

      PD-VVC support for data capture on physical build vehicle.

Responsibilities:

·         To provide engineering support & design clarifications for new product introductions for all Fully Built buses at VBCL, Bus chassis and Truck models at Alwar Chassis Operations.

·         Resolution of all ECRs in liaison with concerned Vehicle Integration spec owners and arrive at implementation and closure.

·         To release relevant routing related layout drawings from DMU after DFA verification on Proto/Pilot build vehicle.

·         To verify DCP (design change proposal) from operations team as single window and liaise with VVC team for further action.

·         To own and release EDM for minor design improvements from Alwar.

·         To provide engineering support for parts localization for part approvals and PPAP sign offs on behalf of VVC.

·         To clarify day to day technical queries arising out of AL Alwar & VBCL operations. To assess deviation request and liaise with chief engineer /aggregate head for final decision through DGM- Bus PD.

·         To participate & support CFTs to bring design to process capability alignment to achieve zero defects at EOL, ALVES, PQRM, BVQRM.

·         To actively learn, involve & participate in new product development activities with VVC from concept stage for enabling smooth design to manufacturing transition.

·         Liaise with VVC design groups (VI, VEE, VS, EAE, DTE, Engines, Frame) for design issues resolution and support for critical Fitment Trial Requests while meeting professional service standards.

·         To manage Proto / Pilot projects independently while retaining functional ownership of VVC teams.

·         To participate and coordinate PD-Operations interface initiatives of product and process improvements.

·         To actively support small category proto activity for some concept builds as requested by VI or Cluster team.

·         To actively participate in meetings organised by Plant head office and timely resolution of assigned points in consultation with core PD team.

Key Skills:

The incumbent should ideally have 12 - 16 years of experience in Fully built Buses & Chassis engineering.

The roles require basic technical knowledge of all systems/sub systems of Fully Built buses and chassis along with critical troubleshooting capability.

We prefer incumbents with good academic track record and high level of proficiency in written / oral communication.

She/he should have a passion for new learning and be able to lead and motivate young team of Engineers working in plant environment and driving towards design quality excellence & team building.

Should be a good problem solver and able to drive BPS / APS project meeting assigned targets.
