Laundry Attendant

Job Summary

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the laundry facility by washing, drying, ironing, and folding linens, uniforms, and guest laundry while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, quality, and care. The role involves handling laundry equipment, maintaining cleanliness in the laundry area, and ensuring timely processing of laundry items to support hotel operations.

Key Responsibilities

Laundry Operations

• Sort, wash, dry, press, and fold linens, uniforms, and guest laundry as per established procedures.
• Operate laundry machines such as washers, dryers, steam press, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure proper use of detergents, chemicals, and fabric care techniques for different types of fabrics.
• Check laundry items for stains, damages, or repairs and report any issues to the Laundry Supervisor.

Quality and Hygiene

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the laundry area.
• Ensure that all linens and uniforms meet the quality standards before distribution.
• Follow proper handling procedures to avoid damage to fabrics and garments.

Inventory and Handling

• Maintain proper segregation and storage of clean and soiled linen.
• Assist in linen counting, stock maintenance, and reporting shortages or damages.
• Ensure correct labeling and handling of guest laundry items.

Equipment Maintenance

• Ensure proper handling and basic maintenance of laundry equipment.
• Report any malfunction or maintenance issues to the concerned department promptly.

Safety and Compliance

• Follow hotel safety procedures and chemical handling guidelines.
• Adhere to hotel policies, hygiene standards, and operational procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum Qualification: Graduate (Bachelors Degree in any discipline).
• Previous experience in hotel laundry or housekeeping operations will be an advantage.
• Basic understanding of laundry equipment and fabric care.
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
