LANSA Developer

We are seeking a skilled LANSA /RPG Developer to design, develop, and maintain business applications using the LANSA development environment (Visual LANSA / RDML / RDMLX). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in IBM i (AS/400, iSeries) environments and a strong understanding of enterprise application design, integration, and modernization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain applications using Visual LANSA, RDML, and RDMLX.
• Enhance and support existing LANSA-based systems on IBM i / AS400 platforms.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in application modernization projects, integrating LANSA applications with APIs, web services, and databases.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize system performance and code quality.
• Support deployment activities and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security requirements.
• Work within Agile/Scrum development methodologies where applicable.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with LANSA /RPG (Visual LANSA, RDML, or RDMLX).
• Hands on with Basic Java or API for integration.
• Experience with IBM i (AS/400, iSeries) platforms and CL programming.
• Strong understanding of RPG, DB2/400, and SQL concepts.
• Familiarity with LANSA Integrator, Web Application Modules (WAMs), or WebRoutines.
• Experience working in team-based environments using Git, SVN, or other version control tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in modernizing legacy LANSA or RPG systems to web or cloud-based environments.
• Knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, and XML integration.
• Exposure to LANSA Composer or LANSA for the Web.
• Familiarity with Agile / DevOps practices.
• Experience with LANSA deployment tools and CI/CD pipelines.
