Shroomery is a mushroom farm and fungi-forward food company dedicated to expanding how India grows, cooks, and thinks about mushrooms. From climate-controlled grow rooms to kitchens, research labs, and community forays, we work across cultivation, education, and innovation to push fungi forward.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lab Supervisor to join and manage our Lab team. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage a team of 15-20 people to oversee the inoculation processes, spawn production and maintain our culture bank. This is a highly critical role that serves as a foundation to all our mushroom cultivation processes at the farm.

Key Responsibilities

• Inoculation Procedures: Supervise and carry out inoculation procedures with precision and efficiency, adhering to established protocols for introducing cultures into grow bags. Ensure sterility is maintained throughout the process and place the inoculated bags securely in the incubation rooms.

• Culture Maintenance: To ensure regularly monitoring and maintenance of cell cultures.

• Quality Control: Supervise contamination checks on mushroom grow bags as per SOPs by closely monitoring mushroom growth and promptly identify any issues or abnormalities. Troubleshoot any problems in a timely manner.

• Documentation: Prepare reports and summaries of laboratory findings for management and regulatory purposes.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor or Master in Biotechnology, or related fields (Microbiology, preferred).
• Experience: 5-7 years of experience in any laboratory/ mushroom cultivation or similar roles.

Skills Required

• Basic understanding of laboratory techniques such as laminar air flow, autoclave, pH meter, etc.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to effectively convey findings and observations.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
